First & Farmers National Bank strives to safeguard your personal finances. One way we do this is by implementing measures to monitor your normal card activity through our fraud center. It’s important for you to let us know if you will be traveling. If an unusual or suspicious transaction occurs, a fraud center representative may receive an alert of possible fraudulent activity.

In this instance, a fraud center representative will contact the customer always identifying themselves as calling on behalf of First & Farmers National Bank. This representative will then describe the activity and state that they are calling to confirm the transaction. They will already know your card number; they will not ask you for the card number, a social security number, birthdate, or your account number.

If you verify that you used the card for that purchase, nothing further will be done. However, if you confirm fraud, the card will automatically be stopped and you will be instructed to contact the bank to receive a new card. If you cannot be reached, the Fraud Center will put a temporary restriction on the debit card until the transaction can be confirmed. This temporary restriction may be removed if the transaction is confirmed by calling First & Farmers National Bank at 888-384-2361 during regular business hours or after hours you may contact the Fraud Center by calling 888-384-2361 option 3.

It’s important to remember to contact First & Farmers National Bank before you will be traveling. We will alert the fraud center to prevent a temporary restriction of your card. It is vital that you update your most current contact information. This allows us to quickly and efficiently reach you should there be suspicious activity.

One more reason to love our Digital Banking—you now have the power to log in to your online or mobile banking and submit your travel plans!  Just look for the “Manage Cards” feature in the menu, click on your card, and then scroll down to “Travel Notifications”.  Set your dates and your locations and you are good to go!

We also encourage you to sign up for our convenient text or email debit card alerts. Each time you swipe your card, you will receive a text or email stating the amount of the purchase. This is an added measure of security we make available so that you may keep watch over your account activity. For more information on debit card alerts, please contact your local branch.
